Liberty bridge in Budapest
The Liberty bridge is one of my favourite bridges in Budapest. This is the shortest bridge of the city, its length is 333,6 meters. It was built for the millennium celebrations in 1896. There is tram traffic going through the bridge since 1898! Nowadays tram No. 47 and 49 goes through the bridge. Breathtaking view of Budapest from the Castle Hill
Calling this view "breathtaking" actually cannot describe what I saw there. Great Market Hall in Budapest
126 years ago, on the 1st February 1897 the Great Market Hall was opened in Budapest. The growing metropolis was in the need of a big central market (the place is also called as Central Market Hall), where people could get fresh and safe food. It’s still the largest market in the city. It used to have rail connection to a nearby freight-yard until 1965 (that railway station doesn’t exist anymore.
